5 Questions With...Tuck Bedding

We love a family business. Can you share the story behind yours?

Hallie: We’re actually a friend business! We’ve known each other since highschool. Julia’s always been obsessed with bedding and dreamt up the idea for Tuck, on her second maternity leave. She enlisted my help after doing a ton of research on fabrics, manufacturing and identifying a hole in the market. We worked for over a year on product development to create the proprietary fabric blend for Tuck’s super-soft, high quality bedding.

We believe that materials matter. What goes into Tuck bedding? 

Julia: All Tuck bedding is made from a proprietary blend of GOTS certified organic cotton and TENCEL™ Lyocell. Which means they’re naturally breathable, strong, and we like to say, as soft as your favourite well-loved t-shirt.

What’s your favourite bed making trick?

Hallie: For us, it was important to make our bedding as easy and fuss free as possible, so we thought through all the pain points in making a bed and tried to find solutions. Our favourite detail is directional tags to our fitted sheets. These tags tell you which way the fitted sheet should go on, so there’s no guessing!

Where do you dream of taking your brand? 

Julia: We hope to continue to build on the beautiful basics we launched with. Look for more colours in the Spring! Also, more partnerships with other female-founded brands, Airbnbs and hotels. We want everyone to have Tuck on their beds :)

How do you style and snuggle your Therma Kota shearling pillows? 

Julia: We love tonal bedroom looks, so ALL the Therma Kota pillows in Kaffi Cream look so dreamy with our Chalk (white) bedding. The shearling makes the bed even more cozy and adds the perfect texture, too.
